Prof. Dr. Gernold intake,is currently working as a Professor of structural and crystal geology, Frankfurt Univ. Germany. teaching: Introduction to structural geology. Introduction to plate tectonics. customer structure. Introduction to Strain Analysis. Microstructures and deformation mechanisms. Tectonic Exercises.
Research Interest
Neotectonics in southern Vogelsberg (Hesse). Structural development and deformation mechanisms in salt domes. Thermomechanical experiments with salt rocks. Analog modeling of geological structures (folds, boudins, etc.). Geodynamic development of the cadomids, variszides and Hellenids.
