Research Interest
his main research interests are in the fields of globalization and transformation studies where I am primarily interested in the question of how goods and markets are created, legitimized, reproduced and changed. What often appears as a self-evident fact like e.g. the existence of private property rights, the anonymous buying and selling of products or trust in the efficiency of markets becomes from this perspective a contextual practice, a permanently constructive performance, which is anything but self-evident or natural. Practices, institutions and objects as the building blocks of this continuous process are – with varying degrees of emphasis – at the center of my work.
