Biography
Reinhard Schmidt studied people - and economics in Heidelberg and Frankfurt am Main and graduated in 1971 his degree in Business Administration. In 1974 , he promoted in Frankfurt and completed a year as a research fellow at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business . From 1977 to 1981 he worked as a lecturer at the University of Frankfurt. During this work Reinhard Schmidt qualified as a professor . From 1981 to 1983 he taught business finance at the University of Göttingen . From 1983 to 1991, he held the chair of business administration, in particular business finance, at the University of Trier . During this time he worked as a Konrad-Adenauer-Gastprofessor at Georgetown University in Washington from 1989 to 1990 . Since 1991 he has been a Wilhelm-Merton professor of business administration at the University of Frankfurt am Main, where he teaches in particular economics of the world trade. In the winter term 1995/1996 he was a guest professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia . As of the end of 1998, the professorship was changed to "International Banking and Finance".
