Biography
Biprajit Sarkar, born in 1977 in Coochbehar, India, was educated at the St. Mary's School (Barpeta Road) and Cotton College (Guwahati) in the province of Assam. After studying Chemistry, Physics and Maths at the University of Delhi beginning 1995 he received his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in 1999. Working in the group of Prof. G. K. Lahiri, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, Biprajit Sarkar graduated as Master of Science (MSc) in August 2001. From September 2001 Biprajit worked in the group of Prof. Dr. W. Kaim, Institute for Inorganic Chemistry, University of Stuttgart, Germany, receiving his PhD in 2005. After a postdoctoral period at the Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France, with Prof. P. Braunstein he started his habilitation at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart in August 2006 which he finished in 2011. In 2012 he got a position as a professor at the Freie Universität Berlin.
