Biography
1996 to 2003 studies of media and communication science as well as cultural studies at the University of Leipzig. 2003 to 2009 Research Assistant, 2009 to 2015 Academic Counselor at the Institute for Communication Science and Media Research at LMU Munich. 2009 Doctoral thesis on the empirical-social sciences in journalism and newspaper science. 2007 to 2010 Spokesperson for the "Nachwuchsforum" communication history. 2010 co-speaker, 2012 to 2016 Spokesperson of the Department Communication History of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Science (DGPuK). 2012/13 Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, Harvard University. 2013/14 Representation of Professorship III at the Institute of Communication Science at the Dresden University of Technology. On January 1, 2016, he was appointed professor for communication history and media culture at the Freie Universität Berlin. 2016 Habilitation at the LMU Munich
