Research Interest

Research interests  Evolution of flowering plants; molecular phylogenetics and especially mutational dynamics on non-coding genomic regions and their application of molecular markers; pollen morphology and ultrastructure research; genesis of biological diversity (based on the study of model groups such as the plant families Amaranthaceae and Nymphaeaceae); Assessment of plant diversity and taxonomy; endemism and biogeography of plants in biodiversity hotspots (especially Cuba and the Caucasus); conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
