Biography
Hans-Helmuth Gander studied philosophy, psychology, art history, German studies, theater, film and television sciences as well as economics at the universities of Cologne, Saarbrücken and Freiburg. In 1987, he received his doctorate with the dissertation "Philosophy and Science. Contributions to the phenomenological destruction of their basic metaphysical relations ", 1998 Habilitation with the book" Selbstverständnis und Lebenswelt. Principles of a phenomenological hermeneutics ". Teaching activities at the Universities of Freiburg, Stuttgart, Tübingen. Since 2003 Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Husserl-Achiv of the University of Freiburg. Research grants and guest lectures at, among others, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava (1991/92), Humboldt University of Berlin (2002), Seoul National University (2007), Gakushuin University Tokyo (2008), Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, Madrid ), Sun-Yat-sen University, Guangzhou (2009).
