Biography
Stefan Gössling is a professor at the Institute for Service Management at the University of Lund and at the School of Business and Economics at the Linné University in Kalmar (both Sweden). Since 1992, he has been working on climate change and mobility against the background of the need for global emission reductions. HGössling has published about 50 articles in scientific journals and as many book chapters. There are eight books. Gössling has been active as a consultant for UNEP, UNWTO, OECD, European Commission, Caribbean Tour Operators, as well as the governments of France and Norway and various companies (Scandinavian Airlines, TICOS, atmosfair). He was contributing author of the IPCC's fourth framework report and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the UNEP Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism.
Research Interest
His research includes quantitative, model-based and socio-scientific approaches. Another Gössling research field is tourism-dependent development processes on tropical islands, particularly in the West Indies and the Caribbean.
