Biography

Ullrich Wuellner earned his doctorate in 1990 in Göttingen, and then worked until 1992 as a research associate at McLean Hospital at Harvard University, Boston, MA. In 1998, he completed his residency in the field of neurology and psychiatry at the University Hospital of Tübingen. There he received the "venia legendi" and habilitated in 1999. From 1999 to 2001, Ullrich Wuellner worked as senior consultant in neurology at the University Hospital of Bonn, and has been deputy director there since 2001. In addition, as of 2012, he also serves as a group leader at the DZNE Bonn.

Research Interest

His research topics are: molecular and cellular pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders, i.e. cerebellar ataxias, polyglutamine disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple System Atrophy; neurogenetics, epigenetics Molecular imaging Clinical research: Movement disorders, sleep medicine, stroke, pharmacology
