Studies in Psychology, Philosophy (Universities of Aachen and Bonn) and Music (State Conservatory, Cologne). Doctoral degree in Psychology (Bonn University, summa cum laude et egregia). Habilitation treatise in Psychology (Heidelberg University).1982 - 1986: Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Psychology (Universität Bonn), 1986-1991: Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Gerontology (Heidelberg University). Visiting professor at Freie Universität Berlin, Heidelberg University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Copenhagen, and the University of Lund. Professor (chair) in Developmental Psychology and founding director of the Institute of Psychology (Greifswald University).
