Biography
Dr. Hui Wang is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hertie School of Governance and a fellow of Taihe Global Institute, a public-policy think-tank based in Beijing. She holds a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh. She worked on China’s urbanisation issues and migrant labour market during her time at the International Organisation for Migration Geneva headquarter. While at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, she engaged in researching China’s immigration policies for the Global Detention Project.
Research Interest
Her research interest is in migration, labour market and global transformation. Hui is conducting research into the area of international migration. Her current research attempts to explore the relationship between social media and the integration of the non-European migrants in Europe.
