Biography
Dr. Helge Bastian PhD has been Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of Indivumed Gmbh since September 12, 2011. Dr. Bastian has over 19 years of international leadership experience in corporations serving the molecular biology, life science research, diagnostics, biotechnology, drug development and pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Dr. Bastian served as a Vice President of Global Marketing, Business Development & Strategy - Research Biotech business of Sigma-Aldrich Corp. since February 2008. Dr. Bastian was responsible for its strategic and commercial marketing efforts to drive top line growth through the identification, developmentive products into the life science market. He served as an Executive Vice President of Life Science Services and Member of the Operations Council of SGS SA (formerly Sgs Societe Generale De Surveillance Holding Sa). He served as Life Science Services of Sgs Societe Generale De Surveillance Holding Sa. He joined SGS in 2003. Dr. Bastian joined SGS after more than eleven years with QIAGEN in Duesseldorf, Germany, where he held various management positions, most recently as Vice President Molecular Diagnostics, Vice President Global Strategic Marketing, and Vice President PreAnalytix. Dr. Bastian studied biology at the Universities in Kiel, Gottingen, and Munich, Germany, and holds a diploma in biology (focus area of biochemistry) and a PhD in molecular biology conducted at the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry from the University of Gottingen, Germany. He is an alumnus from the Max-Planck Network and the Columbia Business School.
