Studies in Sociology, Political Science, Philosophy and German Literature at the University of Hamburg. Diploma degree in Sociology in 2000. Ph.D. (Dr. rer. soc) 2009 at Hamburg University of Technology with a thesis on political discourses on the Internet.

Social impacts oft he Internet (with special focus on politics and science and education) Participative policy-making New and emerging techno sciences (NEST), with special focus on nanotechnology and synthetic biology (SYNENERGENE project)
