1980-1987: Studies of chemistry (German university degree “Diplom”) at the University of Cologne and at the University of Heidelberg 1990: PhD at the University of Heidelberg (low temperature spectroscopy of divalent silicon-compounds) 1991: Postdoc at the University of Gothenburg (theoretical chemistry) 1992-2006: Member of scientific staff at the IFEU - Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Heidelberg GmbH since 2007: Member of scientific staff at the Institute for Technical Chemistry - Department of Technology-Induced Material Flow of the former Research Centre Karlsruhe (today, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT) since 2008: Member of scientific staff at ITAS
