Biography

 Mr. Aleks Engel has been an Large Investment Asset Director at Novo A/S since joining in September 2014. Mr. Engel joined in Novo Large Investments taking part in managing and developing the growing portfolio of investments. Mr. Engel is a biotechnology and medical products business leader with highly-developed talents in business development and strategic value capture. He served as Vice President of Global Business Development at Baxter International from 2009 to 2014. He served as a Vice President of Business Development and International Strategy at Baxter International Inc. from November 2007 to 2009. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Director of Strategic Management at Pfizer Inc. From 2002 to 2005, he served as Director of Client Services at Truven Health Analytics. From 1999 to 2002, he was Consultant of McKinsey & Company. He was working with global M&A licensing, growth strategies, investment prioritization and go-to-market planning. Other previous employments include Pfizer Global Research and Development, Thomson Scientific & Healthcare and McKinsey & Company (all U.S.A.). He is an Observer on the Board of Veloxis Pharmaceuticals. He serves as a Member of The Board of Directors of Xellia Pharmaceuticals AS, and Seri Q Sign. He served as a Director of Symphogen A/S until May 17, 2016. Mr. Engel holds a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering (1999) and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering Practice (1995) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
