Biography
Dr. Jean Bertoldo received his MSc degree in biotechnology (2010) and PhD degree in biochemistry (2013) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. He was awarded a prestigious fellowship from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development to pursue post-doctoral training at the University of Cambridge where he and his colleagues have successfully conserved molecular mechanisms in pathogenic bacterial phosphatases. During his time at the University of Cambridge Bertoldo thus started working in the interface between chemistry and biology with the aim to identify the underlying molecular mechanisms involved in the interplay between inteleukin-7 / IL7R and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Currently he is a Research Associate working with IGF2BP-1 directed drugs in cancer treatment."
