Biography
"Simon studied biochemistry at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and did his master thesis in the laboratory of Stefan Hüttelmaier. Here, the focus was on the post-transcriptional gene regulation of mRNAs of oncogenic factors by the RNA-binding protein IGF2BP1 in ovarian carcinoma cells. As a doctoral student, Simon is now studying the regulation of IGF2BP1-associated mRNAs in terms of stability and translation to further analyze the impact of this protein on the invasiveness of tumor cells."
