Biography
Catia Traversari, Ph.D. serves as Director of Research of Molecular Medicine S.p.A.. In January 2002, she was appointed Head of Cancer Therapy of the Company. Prior to this date, she held the position of Head of Cancer Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy in Genera SpA. She has over 15 years’ experience in tumor immunology and immunotherapy research. She was involved in the molecular cloning of the first human tumor antigen gene during her stage at the Ludwig Institute. She is Author of more than 50 publications and Inventor of several of the Company's technologies. She joined the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in 1991 and was among Founding Members of the Gene Therapy Program. Previously, she served as Visiting Scientist at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Brussels and as Research Associate at Istituto dei Tumori di Milano, one of the non-profit cancer research centers in Italy. She gained a Doctorate in Philosophy in Biology from Universita degli Studi di Milano.
