Biography
In 2016, Dr. Max Franks finished his PhD thesis "Rents, Taxes, and Distribution" on the overlaps of public economics and the economics of climate change. Currently, he works as a post-doctoral researcher in RD3's working group "Policy Instruments Modeling". His research interests include public economics (in particular tax competition and distributional issues), sustainable development and carbon pricing.
Research Interest
Max Franks is a member of the Policy Instruments group. The focus of his research lies on the possibilities for unilateral climate policy and the interface between public economics and the economics of climate change. In particular this includes the areas of tax competition, the supply side dynamics of fossil resource extraction, and the intra- and intergenerational distribution of wealth.
