Biography
Sabine has worked in diabetes for more than 20 years with a background in both academia and 9 years pharmaceutical industry. She has been Principal Investigator for clamp trials and the artifical pancreas trials (AP@Home). Currently she is also building a network with diabetologists and GP practices.
Research Interest
Sabine has been working in diabetes since 1989, starting with Professor Michael Berger’s group at the Clinic of Metabolic Diseases and Nutrition, Heinrich-Heine University hospital, Duesseldorf, where she worked for several years. Afterwards she was with Novo Nordisk for 9 years, being responsible for quite a number of clinical trials in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, especially short- and long-acting insulin analogue, and inhaled insulin trials. Sabine joined her former University colleagues Prof. Lutz Heinemann and Dr Tim Heise at Profil in 2003. She has been Principal Investigator for several clinical phase I PK/PD and glucose clamp trials with new antidiabetic compounds.
