Biography
"Claire Lagier was born and raised in France but moved to Quebec, Canada to pursue her University education. She holds a B.Sc. in International Studies from the University of Montreal and a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Quebec in Montreal During her graduate studies, she traveled to the Brazilian Amazonia for an interdisciplinary field-based course, completed a four months internship researching urban agroecology at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianópolis (Brazil), and worked on the issue of land grabbing with the research NGO GRAIN. She has served three times as a teaching assistant for a field-based course about social movements and social change in Brazil offered through Bishop’s University (Lennoxville, Canada) and has held multiple other research and teaching assistant positions. She is currently working as a Marie Curie ENHANCE early stage researcher and doctoral candidate at the Rachel Carson Center and works on the Brazilian Landless movement, agroecology and pedagogy."
