Biography
"After training as a professional musician, Dorothea Hutterer studied general and typological linguistics, auxiliary historical sciences and Bavarian and local history at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. For her final thesis on sociolinguistic aspects of the Hutterian Brethern, Dorothea completed field studies and research in Manitoba, Canada. She received her Magister Artium in February 2015. Dorothea also completed the Environmental Studies Certificate Program, with a final project entitled ""Beer Environments: How a brewery changed a landscape."" In October 2015, Dorothea joined the Doctoral Program Environment and Society. Her dissertation explores the local environmental aspects of a former Bishop’s county which can be found in old maps and paintings, as well as in the cultural landscape itself. The aim is to search the area with different cartographical material and combine it with modern sources. She is particularly interested in giving background information on and an overview of the visual sources available, and to show the historical circumstances that formed the landscape."
