Biography
Ulla Gordon already worked at Regensburg University´s mosquito group as a student and joined the company in 2002. Her PhD thesis investigated so called “push-pull” control strategies for the yellow-fever mosquito Aedes aegypti, in particular the combination of BG-Sentinel traps with plant-derived spatial repellents. Dr. Gordon is the head of Biogents´ contract research and development branch; she is responsible for lab- and field investigations on the effectiveness of repellents to be applied to the skin, spatial repellents, treated apparel and impregnated bednets. In the last 10 years, she has supervised more than 600 anti-mosquito product evaluations. Dr. Gordon is a member of the European and American Mosquito Control Association as well as the Society of Vector Ecology. She speaks German, English, and Portuguese.
