Biography
Dr. Christian Schetter, Ph.D. serves as Chief Executive Officer of Rigontec GmbH. Dr. Schetter served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Fresenius Biotech GmbH. He served as Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Coley Pharmaceutical GmbH. Dr. Schetter served as Vice President of European Operations and Managing Director of Coley Pharmaceutical GmbH at Coley Pharmaceutical Group, Inc. Dr. Schetter joined Coley from the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany. He is responsible for the planning and organization of all research and development activities in Europe at Coley Pharmaceutical GmbH. Dr. Schetter helped to secure significant funding from the German Government for Coley's internal and external research activities. He was also instrumental in establishing Coley's German operation and setting up its research laboratories in Langenfeld, Germany. He is a member of the Executive Board of BIO Deutschland, the German biotech business association. He received his undergraduate degree and PhD from the University of Cologne and did postdoctoral research in oncology and virology at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California.
