Biography
Dr. Heike Heckroth serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Adhesys Medical GmbH. Dr. Heckroth supports Adhesys Medical as an advisor and coordinates the R&D activities. She is an expert in wound healing products and the principal inventor of Adhesys' technology platform. She is Co-founder of Adhesys Medical GmbH. From 2007 to 2011 she worked on establishing the field of wound closure; development of the topical tissue adhesive at Bayer Material Science (BMS). From 2005 to 2007 she was Technology Scout for Medical Materials at BMS (focus on anti-bacterially equipped medical material). From 2001 to 2005 she served as Head of laboratory in a medical active ingredient lab at Bayer Healthcare (focus on Alzheimer's and cardiovascular diseases). She has over 50 patents and 16 published papers. Dr. Heckroth holds Ph.D. in chemistry (focus on organic photochemistry) at Cologne and Postdoc (development of a DNA repair system) in Japan, Kyoto University.
