Biography
Mr. Kirk H. Edelman is the Global Head of Energy Finance at Siemens Corporation since January 4, 2016. Mr. Edelman is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Siemens Financial Services, Inc. at Siemens Corporation since May 1, 2010. He served as Global Head of Project & Structured Finance - Power, Oil & Gas at Siemens Corporation. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Project & Structured Finance - Energy at Siemens Corporation, where Mr. Edelman leads its energy investing activities worldwide. In this role, Mr. Edelman managed the activities of a global team that provides financial solutions throughout the capital structure - from debt to equity - in support of the energy industry. Mr. Edelman has more than 20 years of finance experience, focusing specifically on energy and infrastructure finance for over 14 years. He joined SFS Inc. in 2007 as Senior Vice President and General Manager of its Energy Finance business. He oversaw SFS' rapid growth, establishing Siemens' energy, infrastructure and natural resources finance business in North America. During his tenure in this role, he participated in several key transactions including Cannon Power's Windy Flats II expansion and ArcLight Capital Partners' Hobbs Power Funding projects. Prior to joining SFS Inc., Mr. Edelman served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director at GMAC, tasked with managing its Project Finance Group. Previous to that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Translink Transmission Company; a Managing Director in TD Securities' Energy Group; a First Vice President & Manager in the Energy and Utilities Department at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstien; and the Department Manager for New York Project Finance Department at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. In addition, he has held finance positions with Catalyst Energy Corporation, Ocwen Financial Corporation and Westvaco Corporation. He served as an Engineer with Exxon Corporation. During his career, he has led numerous transactions for energy clients including El Paso, Reliant Energy, Intergen, Entergy, Phelps Dodge and Texaco. These transactions have included debt and equity capital raising, M&A advisory, privatizations and restructurings. He has had roles ranging from Chief Financial Officer to Project Engineer with various finance and energy companies in the U.S. He has participated as a Panelist for The Energy Collective's webinar titled "How to Save a Planet - On a Budget," was published in the Environmental Leader and interviewed by the project finance trade publication Power Finance & Risk. He received a B.S. degree with distinction in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
