Daniel J. Rixen
Professor
Mechanical Engineering
Technical University of Munich
Germany
Biography
Prof. Rixen has been studying the theoretical, numerical and experimental dynamics of structures and systems for over twenty years. His activities are divided into the fields of simulation and measurement of vibrations as well as decomposition methods for parallel computing, modeling of multiphysical systems and model identification. Developments are carried out in cooperation with the industry and academic partners in the fields of aerospace, vehicle technology, mechatronics, wind energy, microsystems or medical devices. Prof. Rixen (* 1967) studied engineering (electromechanics) at the University of Liège (ULg, Belgium) and made his M.Sc. in aircraft construction at the College of Aeronautics in Cranfield (UK). In 1997, he was a professor at the chair of Prof. Géradin. After a stay at the Center for Aerospace at the University of Colorado, he became a 2000 lecturer in Technical Dynamics at the University of Delft, the Netherlands. Since 2012 he is head of the Institute for Applied Mechanics at TUM.
