Research Interest
Prof. Buchner (* 1960) investigates the principles of the structure formation of proteins and the cellular machinery of protein folding, which also makes it possible to overcome adverse environmental conditions (such as high temperatures). In addition to the insight into fundamental cellular processes, these investigations also provide important prerequisites for the production of proteins in biotechnological processes, for example for the biosynthesis of antibodies, whose molecular basis could be elucidated.
