Biography
Professor Becker's Chair for Brewing and Beverage Technology aims to accompany the new challenges of modern food production with scientific impulses. The focus is on vegetable raw materials and their processing and biotechnological processing. Work on beverages or beer is at the forefront, but the work is especially methodologically oriented and therefore independent of the respective end product. This includes the consideration of cereal / bakery products, artificial tissues or other food systems. After studying the technology and biotechnology of food at the TUM, Prof. Becker worked for several years in the industry. He was a member of the Chair of General Chemistry and Biochemistry at the TUM (1995) and habilitated at the Department of Fluid Mechanics and Process Automation at TUM (2002). He led the Chair of Process Analytics and Grain Technology at the University of Hohenheim to the TUM, where he holds the chair for brewing and beverage technology since 2009.
