Biography
Prof. Gehlen (* 1966) conducts research in the field of building materials. The focus is on work aimed at describing and predicting the life of mineral and metallic building materials as a function of exposure. After studies of chemistry and mineralogy in Bonn, he graduated from the RWTH Aachen in 1995 as a civil engineer. Subsequently, he promoted at RWTH Aachen (2000). Afterwards, he founded an international engineering office in Munich together with two partners. After an apprenticeship to the University of Stuttgart (2006), he succeeded Prof. Dr. Peter Schiessl at the TUM in autumn 2008. He is a national and international member of numerous committees and committees.
