Education Studies in agricultural science at Justus Liebig University Giessen, German university degree "Diplom" in 1983; PhD in 1988; habilitation in 2004 in the research area of agriculture and resource economy (habilitation thesis "Technikfolgen-Abschätzung im Bereich Landwirtschaft und Ernährung" (technology assessment in agriculture and nutrition); associate professor (Privatdozent) at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Faculty 09 - Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management since 2007. Professional background 1986 - 1990 Member of scientific staff in the secretariat of the Enquete Commissions “Technology Assessment” of the 10th and 11th German Bundestag 1990 - 2003 Member of scientific staff at the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag (TAB) 2003 - 2005 Member of scientific staff in the secretariat of the Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA), European Parliament
