Biography
Ms. Sobiah Becker manages the Climate Risk Adaptation and Insurance in the Caribbean project being implemented by the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), as well as the Developing a Disaster Risk Insurance Framework for Pakistan project in collaboration with Climate and Development Knowledge Network. Ms. Becker has rich and varied experience in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change adaptation dealing with cross-cutting issues like gender, capacity development, poverty and social vulnerability. She has successfully led dialogues with governments, collaborated with the private sector and civil society, and has facilitated the development of complementary strategies to support national development agendas.
