Biography

Franziska Seethaler joined the United Nations University Office in New York as a Junior Research Fellow in April 2015 and has been a research consultant since September 2015. Prior to joining UNU, Ms. Seethaler held positions with the UN Mediation Support Unit and the German Embassy in Moscow. She has interned with the Department of International Relations of the German Parliament and has served as the personal assistant to the director of the German-American Institute. While completing her graduate studies at Columbia University, Ms. Seethaler worked as a teaching assistant for Professor Elisabeth Lindenmayer and has participated in a project on negotiations with non-state armed actors. Ms. Seethaler holds a dual Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University. She is fluent in English, German and French and has an advanced proficiency in Russian and Spanish.
