Biography
1989 to 1995 studies of prehistory, early history, geography and ethnology at the University of Hamburg. 1999 Doctoral thesis on urban archeology Zwickau, 2010 Habilitation on the settlement development of the Erzgebirge. After studying activities for various employers (Museum of London, City of Geesthacht, Lichtenstein Training Center), but especially for the Saxon State Office for Archeology. From 1995 to 1998 excavations in Zwickau, from 1998 to 2001 and 2003 to 2004 Head of the interdisciplinary investigations of Breunsdorf, Lkr. Leipziger Land. 2004 to 2011 Scientific Assistant and Academic Superior at the Chair of Archeology of the Middle Ages and the Modern Period at the University of Bamberg. Since 2012 he has been working on the creation of the monographic panorama for the city of Aschaffenburg and the DFG project: "The cruise city Apollonia / Arsur in Israel. Structure - Cultural Adaption - City-Neighborhood Relations "of the University of Tübingen. Lectures at the University of Bamberg, at the SoSem 2012 guest lecturer at the Karlsruiversität Prag.
Research Interest
Especially colonization processes, urban archeology, montanarchaeology, high-medieval to modern mortuary use, medieval and modern civilization, modern archeology. Projects for the exploration of the deserted Bergstadt on the Treppenhauer, Kr. Hainichen and the high and late medieval settlement of the eastern Egerland, district Karlovy Vary / Carlsbad.
