Biography
Prof. Dr. Let Gerrits hold the Chair for the Control of Innovative and Complex Technical Systems. He studied administrative science and city planning at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After completing his studies in 2003, he was a researcher at TNO Built Environment and Geosciences . At the same time, he was working on his doctoral thesis. Prof. Dr. In 2008, Gerrits was promoted to an assistant professor (2008-2011) and then as an associate professor (2011-2014) at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam , before joining Bamberg . His research aims at the characteristics and functions of complex socio-technological systems. In the past, his research has focused on the construction and planning of seaports, railway and road infrastructure, the functioning of rail networks, urban planning and the development and use of rake models in public decision-making processes. Some research projects have been financed by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research or on behalf of third parties. Prof. Gerrits was a regular guide to urban planning. He was awarded the NWO Veni-grant in 2010 and received the "Arthur" award, the best lecturer in management science in 2012.
