Apprenticeship as industrial buyer at Siemens AG, studies of business economics with a focus on statistics and business informatics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg; Scientific assistant and assistant professor at the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg; 1995 Doctorate to Dr. rer. pole.; 2001 Habilitation in the fields of statistics and econometrics. April 2004 - August 2007 Head of Competence Center Empirical Methods at the Institute for Labor Market and Professional Research (IAB), Nuremberg, October 2004 - August 2007 additionally head of the product and program analysis department at the headquarters of the Federal Agency for Labor, Nuremberg. January 2007 - August 2007 Associate Professor for Computational Statistics at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Frankfurt / M. In the summer semester 2007, he was a member of the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics at the Otto-Friedrich-University in Bamberg. Since September 2007 holder of the Chair for Statistics and Econometrics in Social and Economic Sciences at the Otto-Friedrich-University in Bamberg.
