Biography
The professor Prof. Dr. After studying business administration at the University of Bayreuth, Thomas Egner has been promoted and habilitated (Prof. Dr. J. Sigloch), where he subsequently worked as a private lecturer. Meanwhile, he successfully passed the tax consultant's examination. In the winter semester of 2005/2006, he took up the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Duisburg-Essen / Campus Essen and then transferred to the Chair of Business Taxation and External Accounting. On October 1, 2009, he accepted the professorship at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg in the chair of business administration, in particular company taxation. Since then, he has also been a member of the Audit Committee BWL / IBWL / WiPad. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Audit Committee, among other things, responsible for BAföG issues. From October 2011 to September 2014, he had also taken over the coordination of the Department of Business Administration.
Research Interest
His research interests are in the area of ​​taxation theory, in particular tax effects on capital markets as well as in the area of ​​international tax burden comparisons. In addition, questions of tax process and risk management are the focus of his interest.
