Research Interest
The focus of the research in the broadest sense is the hierarchical structuring of solid matter through programmed "self-organization". The structuring extends over several length scales from the nm to the μm scale. To the extent that it is possible to complement the diversity of chemical compounds with the complex structuring known from biological systems, new materials with previously unknown functions will be developed.
