Prof. Alexander Bürkle, MD is currently working as Professor in the Department of Biology, University of Konstanz, Germany.
Research Interest
The Molecular Toxicology group seeks to understand how cells respond to genotoxic (DNA-damaging) stresses on a molecular and biochemical level and how these mechanisms contribute to (patho-)physiological states such as aging and cancer development. Research projects focus on the following topics: I. Genetic Toxicology / Poly(ADP-Ribosyl)ation II. Genetic Toxicology / DNA Damage and Repair III. Biomarkers of Aging IV. Inflammatory Toxicology V. Development of Novel Technologies.
