Master of theology at the University of Heidelberg; Graduation 1991 in Heidelberg; 1991 - 1997 research associate at the Institute for New Testament Research at the University of Münster; 1997 Habilitation in Münster; 1998 - 2001 vicar of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate; 2002 - 2004 Pastor's office; Since 2004 professor of patristics and New Testament text research, director of the INTF and the Bible Museum.
