Biography
Uwe Hellmann studied law at the University of Bielefeld in "one-phase" education and in 1981 he passed the final examinations before the Judicial Examining Office in Düsseldorf. Until 1986, he worked as a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Hans Achenbach at the University of Osnabrück. Where he became a Dr. in 1986 iur. PhD. He then worked as a university assistant at the University of Osnabrück. In 1992 he was habilitated. He was granted the teaching authority for "Criminal Law, Criminal Proceedings and Tax Criminal Law". After professorships in Heidelberg, Trier and Bochum, he received a professorship at the University of Heidelberg in 1994 and a C 4 professorship at the University of Potsdam.He has published textbooks on the general and special section of the Criminal Code, on economic penal law and on criminal procedural law, and has been working on comments on the StGB and the tax regulations. He is co-editor of several series of fonts.
