Biography

Prof/Dr. Peter Ruth has received his PhD at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Heidelberg, Germany University during the period of 1982-1985. Currently, he/she is working as Professor in Tubingen University. His/her research has included Retinal functions of Pde6h and CNGB3,BK potassium channels as modulator of sleep/wake cycles and homeostatic dopamine balance,Role of Slack channels for learning tasks, control of locomotor activities and neuro-protection,Control of metabolic manifestation of obesity by hypothalamic and fat-cell BK channels Based on this research and fellowship training he/she has received several awards and honors, such as 2013-present: Co-speaker of the DFG Research Unit He /she have authored KCNMA1 encoded cardiac BK channels afford protection against ischemia-reperfusion injury research articles/books.
