Biography

Dr. Stefano Biondi serves as the Head of Chemistry, Mfg and Controls at Allecra Therapeutics GmbH. Mr. Biondi served as the Head of Chemistry at Neuro3d S.A. since joining in December 2002. Mr. Biondi was responsible for the medicinal chemistry programs in all projects, chemical development, quality and logistics. He served as Director of Chemistry at Neuro 3D S.A. He served as Director of the Research Laboratories at Nicox SA from July 2005 to December 2009. Since 1988, he has built industrial research experience with Glaxo and Glaxo Smith Kline (Verona) in various positions. As Laboratory Head and Senior Research Leader, he successfully worked in the field of anti-bacterial agents. In 2002, he joined the CNS Group of the Verona Psychiatry CEDD, where he provided critical contributions to lead optimization projects and, as a Member of the Target Class Committee, to the evaluation of hit compounds deriving from High Troughput Screening. For 12 years in GSK, he covered several positions, as Antibacterials Laboratory Head, he contributed to the discovery of sanfetrinem and other tricyclic carbapenems, invented and developed a number of novel ketolides. His experience ranges from exploratory chemistry to chemical development with totally synthetic and natural product derived compounds. Mr. Biondi graduated in Chemistry at the University of Bologna in 1987.
