Biography
Michael Kaschke is CEO and oversees the Research & Quality Technology divisions with the Microscopy and Industrial Metrology divisions as well as Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology. He is also responsible for the Group functions Strategic Corporate Development, Corporate Communications, Corporate Human Resources and Corporate Legal & Patents. He also oversees the US and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions. Michael Kaschke has been a member of the Executive Board since 2000, chairman since 2011. In addition to his mandates as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG listed in the TecDax and of other ZEISS companies, he is also a member of the Supervisory Boards of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, Deutsche Telekom AG and Robert Bosch GmbH. In 2014 Michael Kaschke was appointed to the German Science Council, one of the most important science policy advisory bodies in Germany. In 2009, Michael Kaschke was appointed Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He lectures regularly on optical medical technology and on the management of innovation and business development processes. Michael Kaschke is Chairman of the University Council of Aalen University. Michael Kaschke was born on 18 June 1957 in Greiz. He studied physics at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and graduated in 1983 as a graduate physicist. In 1986 he received his doctorate in law. rer. nat., 1988 Dr. med. sc. nat. His research work focused on the generation and application of ultrashort laser pulses.
