Biography
Nico Pestel is a Research Associate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cologne in 2013. Prior to this, he studied economics and political science in Cologne and received a degree as Diplom-Volkswirt (equiv. M.Sc. Economics) in 2009.
Research Interest
His main research interests are in the fields of labor economics and empirical public economics. In particular, he is interested in the relationship between demographic and social change and economic inequality. Moreover, he is Deputy Program Director of IZA's research area "Environment and Employment".
