Evelyn Tengmaa is a broadcast journalist with Ghana’s TV3 Network. As the first born among four children, she was born in the Upper West Region particularly Ko-Nadom. Evelyn started her basic education at Ko “B” stream and later joined Dieudonne International school in the Greater Accra Region. Tengmaa gained admission into the Ghana Institute of Journalism after completing her secondary school education at St Louis Senior High School in the Ashanti region. After graduating with a Diploma in Communication Studies, Evelyn has worked with Graphic Communication Group’s Mirror newspaper as an intern and is currently doubling as a Parliamentary correspondent and producer at TV3. Evelyn has also worked with the Ghana Armed Forces where she covered military assignments under the Directorate of Public Relations Department. In an interview with, Evelyn hinted she aspires to be a Chief Executive Officer of a company someday. “I strive hard to grow in my journalism profession. And I will like to grow the scope of my work by possibly working with an international media such as the Aljazeera’s, the BBC’s among others.” For Evelyn, her stay in the Ghana Institute of Journalism has contributed immensely to shaping the success chalked so far in her profession as a journalist. “We had interesting lecturers who taught us basic things we didn’t know. These nuggets were really helpful and I entreat all students to take their studies seriously. As upcoming journalists, read wide and be abreast with current issues, history and international news” she said.
