Biography

Background Jacob Narh Nortah, popularly known as ‘Jake’, is a native of Ningo Prampram in the Damgbe West District of the Greater-Accra Region. He was born in 1984 on September 23. Jacob is the second son of the six children of his parents. Growing up, Jacob had always wanted to be a journalist. This dream compelled him to work hard in other to achieve his goal. Education He had his basic education at Satet International School in Tema New Town where he was School Prefect and Akodzo Junior Secondary School in Tema Community One. From there, Jacob proceeded to Nungua Secondary School in Nungua (ABLADE) where he served as an Entertainment Prefect and completed in 2005. Jacob revealed some of the nicknames he made along the way. “Back in JHS, I was ‘Rapchizo’. This was because I was a rapper so that was my stage name while in SHS I was called ‘Disiapole’ because I was a good Christian.” Jacob’s zeal and passion for becoming a broadcaster compelled him to seek advice from renowned journalist and educationist, Ebo Afull, who advised him to further his education at the Jayhee University College, where he gained his advance Diploma in Communication (Journalism) in 2009. Whilst at Jayhee, he grabbed every opportunity that came his way. He did an attachment at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and due to the hard work and enthusiasm he showed, he was given the opportunity to work there from 2007 till 2010.
