Biography

Mrs E. Nana Yaa Asenso - Okyere / Senior Consultant Mrs E. Nana Yaa Asenso - Okyere is a Senior Consultant with fifteen (15) years’ experience in consultancy at varied levels in the public and private sectors of Ghana. She began her consulting career with Plan Consult as an Associate Consultant/Business Development Manager after obtaining her Master of Business Administration (Marketing Option) de gree from the University of Ghana, Legon where she managed a USAID funded project, MOST/BASICS II, among other assignments. She became the Corporate Manager for Business Linkages International, a private investment promotion company, during which period sh e consulted on projects for Ghana Association of Fashion Designers and Exporters (GAFDEX), managed Ghana’s participation in the World Apparel Market (WAM 2002) in Brussels, Belgium and was a key consultant for the launch and promotion of the Africa Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA) of the United States of America government in Ghana. She consulted for the Ghana AIDS Commission as an Evaluator, carried out business counseling and business development training assignments for IFC/World Bank and consulted fo r SMEs on varied services. Nana Yaa Asenso - Okyere’s formal public sector experience began after obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Economic Policy Management, at the University of Ghana, Legon. She worked with the Ministry for Private Sector Development and later the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President’s Special Initiatives (PSIs) as the Technical Advisor on Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation for the National Medium - Term Private Sector Development Strategy (PSDS) 2004 - 2008. This was a mult i - donor funded programme that had multi - sectoral dimensions. Mrs Asenso - Okyere gave leadership in coordinating the efforts of all participating sectors, to ensure that a workable logical framework acceptable to stakeholders (Government, Development Partner s and Private Sector Representatives) for monitoring and evaluation was in place for the implementation of the programme. After a stint with the Central University College as a Marketing Management adjunct lecturer, she joined GIMPA as a Senior Assistant Registrar, from February 2009 till September 2012, when she retraced her steps back into consulting in October, 2012. Nana Yaa’s knowledge areas are Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Marketing Management, Entrepreneurship and Events Management . She is a trainer in the afore - mentioned knowledge areas, a skilful oral and written communicator and an adept quality assurance person
