Biography

Elvis Kobina Donkoh is a Fante from Agona Swedru born on October 23, 1979 to Mr. James Kobina Donkor and Mrs. Rebecca Grant Brew. He had his secondary education at Tema Secondary School from 1995 to 1997. In 2000 he gained admission to University of Cape Coast and graduated in 2004 with First Class Division in Mathematics. He followed this up and earned a Master of Philosophy in Mathematics in 2010 from KNUST. He is currently a Ph. D Applied Mathematics student at KNUST. Before beginning as an assistant lecturer at UENR in 2013, Mr Donkoh has taught IGCSE Mathematics at Takoradi International School where he was the Academic Coordinator and Head of Mathematics Dept. He headed and taught Cambridge A’ level Mathematics at International Community School in Kumasi and lectured engineering Mathematics at Ghana Technology University College, Kumasi Campus. Mr. Donkoh has 8 years of teaching experience and 2 years of lecturing experience before he took a new appointment with UENR. He has taught students who are currently in top universities like MIT, Swarthmore, Brown, Grinnell College, Wellesley, Aberdeen, George Mason, KNUST among others.

Research Interest

In UENR, Mr. Donkoh lectures Mathematics & Statistics and his area of research is in Optimization, Differential Equations & Applications (Boundary Value Problems) & Optimal Control Theory (Variational Calculus, Signals & Systems).
