Biography
Prof. Romána Zelkó holds a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical technology and in 2008 she defended her Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences thesis entitled “Effect of physical ageing of amorphous polymeric excipients on the physical stability of dosage forms”. From 1991 she is employed by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Semmelweis University. She advanced her studies in the pharmaceutical technology at the Ghent University, Belgium. Her research work focuses on polymeric delivery systems, physical ageing of polymers, microstructural characterization of dosage forms associated with their functionality-related characteristics. She is the author of several scientific (190) journal full papers, 4 patents) and expert works. She has been successfully passing the achievements of her scientific research work on to her students at various Ph.D. studies. She has served as a Vice-Dean, the Head of the University Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Administration, and from 2013 as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Semmelweis University.

Polymeric drug delivery systems, fibrous delivery, physical ageing of polymers, drug release, physical stability of solid dosage forms.
